Introduction to Alpha Decay Chemistry

Introduction to Alpha Decay ChemistryAlpha Decay Chemistry is a way of creating energy from nothing. The potential energy comes from the 'nothing' of very low temperatures and pressures. This is the principle behind thermionic reactions, molecular oscillations, magnetic and electrostatic reactions and the nuclear fusion process. The laws that govern these reactions are in turn the principles by which everything we use today came into being. Before Alpha Decay Chemistry can be properly understood, one must understand what is meant by the word 'nothing'. Nothing refers to anything which has no form or dimension. It could also mean the nothing in between any form or dimension. For example, when we say 'nothing' we may also mean the empty space that is between two objects, such as between two plates of glass or between two layers of graphite. For the purposes of Alpha Decay Chemistry, nothing means a state of low temperatures and pressures. The energies of atoms undergo decay as they chang e state from highly unstable to highly stable. The rate at which this happens depends on the temperature and pressure at which the atoms are being studied. Some types of atoms, known as semi-conductors, emit radiation when they undergo alpha decay. Atoms such as uranium and plutonium are used in nuclear weapons.During the course of experiments with Alpha Decay Chemistry, atoms are split into subatomic particles. These particles are then studied to gain information about the rate at which they decay and how they are related to the atoms they form. Atomic nuclei form the building blocks of molecules, which make up the structures that we are familiar with.In order to know the atomic structure of a substance, the process of Alpha Decay Chemistry needs to be carefully designed. This type of Chemistry is most useful in the realm of medicine and biology, which involves studying the reactions of living cells. It is particularly useful in studying the behavior of living cells in the laborato ry and in the natural environment.Studies using Alpha Decay Chemistry have been performed to test the effects of various drugs. The effects of cancer drugs have been studied using it. This type of Chemistry is also used in medicine to determine the effect of radiation and in medical diagnostics to determine if the patient is healthy enough to go to surgery.Alpha Decay Chemistry also helps scientists find other types of organic compounds and fuels. They also use it to study the behavior of the Earth's atmosphere. One of the main applications of Alpha Decay Chemistry is the study of gas bubbles and their formation, the study of volcanoes and its effects on gas emission, studies of solar flares and other phenomena that could cause hazardous air emissions. It is also used to predict the effects of climate change.Using Alpha Decay Chemistry is quite different from using high-tech laboratory equipment. A simple device used to create light is all that is needed, which would otherwise take days, weeks or even months to study.

New research finds that Good-looking pupils get better grades - Tutor Hunt Blog

New research finds that Good-looking pupils get better grades New research finds that `Good-looking` pupils get better grades New research finds that `Good-looking` pupils get better gradesSchoolsWould you rather be good looking or intelligent? This is the kind of question, facile though it may be, that is guaranteed to engender a friendly debate amongst a group of friends. The last time I (reluctantly) took part in a discussion of this subject, I recall being somewhat dismayed at the responses given by my friends. With most of the group being in their late 30`s or early 40`s, I assumed that we were all far too sober and sensible to be chasing dreams of an eternal youth, and everyone would certainly opt for an increase in intellect. I was however completely mistaken: the vast majority of my friends, who were on that evening both male and female in equal number, answered that they would choose to be good looking over intelligent. Most explained that they believed attractive people had more opportunities in life - that they were more likely to be promoted at work, and that their social lives were simply better, and that many people judged good looking people to be more intelligent anyway! While this might sound like a naive philosophy, there happens to be an abundance of supporting evidence. An extensive study conducted by the University of St Andrews clearly showed that test subjects rated attractive people as being more intelligent. Sean Talamas, a researcher at the university who devised the test, created a set of hundreds of `standardised` faces, and then asked participants to rate them according to their attractiveness and intelligence. The results showed a clear correlation: the more good looking someone was, the higher intelligence rating they received. I`ve heard that similar tests have been conducted in other countries, with the same results; and though it`s somewhat relieving that such vain judgement is not a sole characteristic of this country, it is equally dismaying that, as a species, we place such a high value on ascetic beauty. Is it characteristic of the times we live in, that we care so much for the surface, and so little for the substance beneath? Our culture certainly does seem to place an egregiously high value on youth and beauty, be it with the impossibly thin and glamorous models adorning the covers of so many magazines and billboards, to the endless TV shows about physical make overs and plastic surgery. It may be that, instinctually, we see physical attractiveness as a marker for health and fertility - though this doesn`t explain why we subliminally conflate good looks with intelligence. A new study carried out by Barnard College economist Daniel Hamermesh has recently brought this subject to the forefront of public debate. Mr Hamermesh`s results suggest that good looking children perform better in school than their less attractive peers. His research found that pupils whose looks are `one standard deviation above average` attain almost five extra months of schooling than an `otherwise identical average-looking individual.` In order to conduct the study two separate data sets were consulted, each of which tracked the academic performance of children over a number of years. The UK National Child Development Study (NCDS) was the first, which tracked 17,000 Britons born in a single week of 1958; and an American Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development, incorporating more than 1,300 children aged from just 6 months to 15 years old. These 2 vast data archives contained the academic information, which then had to be correlated with an assessment of each child`s looks. A panel of 10 undergraduates were used as aesthetic judges for the American study, who watched video interviews of each child, giving each a score out of 5. In the UK study the children`s teachers were consulted, who assigned the categories attractive, unattractive, `abnormal feature` or `underfed or scruffy and dirty` to each. One can only wonder if the children`s parents were consulted over this study. The results found a clear correlation: better looking children preformed better academically. In such a simple study a set of control procedures, whose purpose is to minimise the effects of variables other than the two independent variables, are paramount. Mr Hamermesh has stated that accounting for gender, ethnicity, and parents` education and income were taken into consideration in the test. The exact reasons for the results are unclear, but Mr Hamermesh explored a number of theories, finding evidence that teachers have a better relationship with more attractive students; and also found that pupils rated as being less attractive reported more incidents of being bullied, which could certainly lead to a poorer academic performance. Ultimately bi-variable analyses are an extremely simplistic form of statistical testing ; - if there is indeed a link between looks and academic performance, the mechanism behind the correlation remains unknown. 3 months ago0Add a Comment

Calculus Word Problems

Calculus Word Problems Calculus word problems are used to solve the word problems. This tool converts the word problem into equations and then with the help of the relevant calculus formula, it solves the final equation. This tool is so efficient that the conversion and solving process goes almost simultaneously, means the time consume is very less in getting the result. This can be better clarified by taking individual examples of differentiation and integration. The examples are as shown below:- Example 1:- Find the velocity in cm/s if the small displacement is given by 5 cm in time duration of 10 s. Solution 1:- Given small displacement = 5 cm. Let us assume that the small displacement is denoted by dx Therefore from above, dx = 5 cm Also, it is given that this displacement is covered in time duration of 10 s. This time duration is also very small just 10 s. So we can consider this time as a very small time period, so we can denote it by dt. Therefore from above, dt = 10 s. Now we know that the velocity is the ratio of displacement travelled to the total time taken. And let v is the velocity of an object V = dx / dt = 5/10 = = 0.5 cm. Hence , the velocity of an object is 0.5cm Example 2:- Find the velocity in cm/s if the small displacement is given by 20 m in time duration of 5 s. Solution 2:- Given small displacement = 20 cm. Let us assume that the small displacement is denoted by dx Therefore from above,dx = 20 cm Also, it is given that this displacement is covered in time duration of5 s. This time duration is also very small just 10 s. So we can consider this time as a very small time period, so we can denote it by dt. Therefore from above, dt = 5 s. Now we know that the velocity is the ratio of displacement travelled to the total time taken. And let v is the velocity of an object V = dx/dt = 20/5 = 4 = 4 cm/s Hence the velocity of an object is 4cm/ s.

Rise Of Foreign Language Enrollment

Rise Of Foreign Language Enrollment Foreign languages are making a comeback. Modest? Sure. Slight? Yes. But a comeback indeed, as enrollment in foreign language majors has been rising steadily, according to the Washington Post. Enrollment in every foreign language has been consistently rising slightly, according to a new survey by the Modern Language Association of America, published in the Washington Post. The trend of all foreign languages rising slightly is fairly new. Language enrollments for French, German, Italian, Latin, Russian and Japanese have been on enrollment roller coasters, experiencing short-lived ups and down in, according to past surveys by the Modern Language Association of America. However, the Modern Language Association of America found that all languages are rising at a steady rate, since 2000. Overall, enrollment in foreign languages rose 6.6% since 2006, growing from 1,577,810 in 2006 to 1,682,627 in 2009. Spanish, French and German still remain to be the most popular languages, respectively. Spanish has always been the most popular language, garnering more students than all the other languages combined. However, Spanish enrollment has leveled off slightly, standing at 865,000 national students, compared to 765,000 for all other languages. French, which was more popular in the 1960s topping off with an enrollment of 388,000 in 1968, has decreased since to 215,000; however, it has been rising slightly similar to other languages in recent years. German also peaked in 1968 at an enrollment of 215,000; then it continuously lost enrollment until lately, now standing just shy of 100,000. Italian enrollment, however, has risen fairly steadily since 1960, now standing at 80,000 students. American Sign Language is rising faster than any of the other languages, shooting ahead of Italian, gaining over 90,000 students in college classrooms throughout the nation. American Sign Language grew from nearly nothing in the 1990s, showing colleges and universities that it is a language worth studying. Chinese and Japanese are growing rapidly; however, their enrollment numbers cant quite compete with other languages, standing at 70,000 and 60,000 for Japanese and Chinese, respectively. This trend could make foreign languages more ubiquitous at colleges, as colleges attempt to respond to the increase of demand in studying foreign languages. If this trend continues colleges, high schools and grade schools will need more foreign language teachers, giving current and future foreign language students more potential career paths.
